On Thursday, April 13, 2022 at 7:00 pm, Caroline Hughes from the Loon Preservation Committee staged a virtual presentation for Rust Pond residents: The Common Loon: A New Hampshire Icon. Caroline covered loon biology, the threats that loons face when on our lakes in the summer, and the work that LPC is doing to address these threats. In addition, Caroline shared the history of loon occupancy, nesting, and nest outcomes on Rust Pond. She also discussed plans to float a raft on our lake to increase the chances of successful nesting outcomes. For a replay of this Zoom presentation, click here.
